The drive mechanism for the belt conveyor can be either an electric drum or a motor-driven pulley; The conveyor drive systems come in three types: fixed bracket type, mobile wheeled type, and parallel caster type; The belt conveyor is suitable for transporting materials with a bulk density less than 1.67 t/m³ that are easily scooped, such as powders, grains, and small lumps of low-abrasive materials, as well as bagged goods. Examples include coal, crushed stone, sand, cement, fertilizers, and grain, with the temperature of the conveyed material not exceeding 60°C.
